Muscle soreness

Aching, tender muscles.
Self-care options include gentle stretching, massage and icing muscles after exercise. Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) available without a prescription can help too.
Seek medical care immediately if there is:
- Chest pain during or after exercise.
- A possible broken bone.
- A joint that appears out of position.
- A pop or snapping sound.
Make an appointment to see a health care professional if muscles soreness:
- Does not improve with self-care steps.
- Is persistent or severe.
