A substance that collects in and hardens blood vessels, builds up on tooth enamel or appears on skin due to certain conditions.
Eating a diet with lots of fruits and vegetables can help prevent blood vessel and tooth plaque. Regular physical activity also can help keep blood vessels healthy.
See a healthcare professional right away if you have:
- Chest pain or shortness of breath.
- Pain radiating to jaw, neck, shoulder or arm, especially the left arm.
- Cold sweats.
Make an appointment to see a doctor or dentist if you have:
- Thick, shiny, silvery scales on the skin that cause irritation or discomfort.
- Ongoing tooth pain.
