Keratitis

Topic

Keratitis is inflammation of the clear, dome-shaped tissue that covers the eye, called the cornea. It's caused by infection, injury, wearing contact lenses too long and some diseases.

Eye redness, pain and irritation and blurred or decreased vision are symptoms.

Prompt medical help is needed to avoid loss of vision. Treatment may include medicines, such as antibiotics or antifungal medicines.
