Colitis
December 24, 2025
Colitis is inflammation of the large intestine. Infection, inflammatory bowel disease, such as ulcerative colitis, and reaction to an antibiotic, also called pseudomembranous colitis, are some causes.
Symptoms may include diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps and rectal bleeding.
Treatment depends on the underlying cause.
