Broken nose
May 1, 2025
A broken nose is a break or crack in a bone in the nose. This also is called a nasal fracture. Possible causes include a sports injury, an accident or a fight.
The nose may look crooked. Swelling, tenderness, black eyes and difficulty breathing through the nose all may be signs of a fracture.
Most broken noses don't require surgery. Treatment often involves procedures to realign the nose to help it heal properly.
