Follow a heart-healthy lifestyle. Eat healthy, get regular exercise, and do not smoke. Limit or do not drink alcohol. Do not use stimulants such as caffeine and illegal drugs such as cocaine or methamphetamine. Yoga or meditation may help treat a fast heartbeat due to stress or anxiety.
See a healthcare professional right away if there is:
- Chest pain.
- Shortness of breath.
- Dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting.
- Weakness.
