Wheat allergy

An allergy to foods containing wheat.
Wheat allergy is a potentially life-threatening allergy to foods with wheat. Eating foods that contain wheat or inhaling wheat flour can cause the allergic reaction.
Symptoms may include a swollen mouth or throat, hives, congestion, and difficulty breathing.
A serious reaction needs emergency care. Treatment may include antihistamine medicines and shots of adrenaline, also called epinephrine.
