Cancer that begins in the bladder.
Bladder cancer is cancer that begins in the balloon-shaped organ that stores urine, called the bladder. This cancer typically affects older adults. It's usually diagnosed early, when it's treatable. It's likely to recur, so follow-up tests are typically recommended.
Symptoms include blood in the urine, which may make the urine look bright red or cola colored. Other symptoms include frequent urination, painful urination and back pain.
Treatments include surgery, radiation therapy and medicines. Medicines used for bladder cancer include chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy.
