Androgenic alopecia
January 19, 2024
Hair loss from the scalp, causing baldness.
Androgenic alopecia is a condition in which the scalp loses hair forever. It's a genetic condition that can occur in anyone. It's sometimes called male-pattern baldness or female-pattern baldness.
The main symptom of androgenic alopecia is hair loss at the hairline or top of the head that slowly spreads.
Medicines can prevent further hair loss. Surgery can transplant hair or reduce the area of bald skin. Natural-looking wigs and hairpieces can help cover hair loss.
